About us two

Denisa Pečar

Jessica Pečar

Denisa Pecar is the founder of del Rey de la Montana Blanca, she is leading Alaskan Malamutes.

"My love for Malamute outbroke in 2004, when the small puppy named Aries came to me :-). At that time I did not have any experience with this breed, I only knew that I want it. She changed my life - the whole household - torn carpets, shoes, holes in the garden...but on the other hand, you will appreciate other values, new life, new friends. She thaught me what is the patience, to have strong nerves and live active life. I will never forget our first race in 2006, where my daughter Jessica started in category D2, which were full of expectations for us, adrenaline, nerves and of course, on the other hand, we can get to know much wonderful people who also fell to this beautiful passion. Every day we thank to our Aries for the fact that the kennel del Rey de la Montana Blanca could arise, because of her. After years of living together with this wonderful breed, you suddenly realize that it changes your priorities - in your garden is not paramount English lawn, flower bed of colorful flowers and few hairs on the sofa or in the coffee still can be overlooked...And when the neighbors begin to complain a petition that your dogs are noisy and you are considering a new home...The best solution is somewhere out of the city, village...but even there it is not it, because morning wake of neighbor's rooster is obvious, but dogs howl is already disturbing...and so it is the best to stay somewhere secluded. And do you never have money? As if you even could, still you need some new dog house, new collars or harnesses, you need to buy pellets and meat, you have to pay the fees for shows or vet fees...but because the money is anyway destroying the nature, and that you are falling apart every relationship or no one "normal" can not find it? Nothing new for those who failed this passion :-)

It is said that if you buy a northern breed, you will love it forever or hate it forever.

So our family continues to grow...Today, our kennel has grown by the Siberian husky, leading by my daughter Jessica, why me, as a mother justly proud. Northern breeds are simly amazing and wonderful breeds that they can give a lot of love and joy. In breeding we try to ensure the standard of the breed, breed only healthy individuals and of course, in addition to exposure to various exhibitions will try to keep the sport."

Jessica Pecar is currently the coowner of del Rey de la Montana Blanca, she is leading Siberian huskies.

"My childhood was full of dogs because many generations in our family were hunters, so I grew up with dogs. Because of that my life goals are connected with animals, especially dogs. As I mentioned above, as a result of hunting traditions in our family, my first dog was English Cockerspaniel, born in 2002 - Zera Lubrami. With her my show career started - my 1st show was in 2002 at International Dog Show in Nitra (SR). I was also a Junior Handler, but I did not like it so much. As a beginning of the love of northern breeds we can consider the fact that I got my first malamute - Ashka-Mya del Rey la Montana Blanca in 2009 (but before that I participated at many shows as Junior Handler with Malamutes in years 2004-2009). Ashka was the girl of our 1st litter. Almost exactly 1 year later, in 2010, she died under ice when she ran away. That was the point, when I said that I never want to own a Malamute - it was very bad moment for me. Days and days I spent with searching a right breed for me. It was a Siberian Husky - it was love at the first sight - the reason was their elegancy, charm, pride and majesty. When our first female, Kisska came to us from Latvia, I knew from the first moment, that I found my forever breed and my wishes are fulfilled. She taught me the most about husky temperament, about dominancy, about secret sides of showing, about winning and losing and many many more...Kisska is one and only dog in my life.

First two years in "husky" life was the hardest ones. I was alone in big husky community, I had just few friends, who liked and still likes me, but many breeders did not talk to me because I was just "that girl". Many breeders also gossiped my first female because she was really ugly duckling. After these two years I can say that I am so happy and lucky - because of my friends and mentors - I cannot imagine the breeding and having dogs without them!

I am more than happy that I can have a mentor, who taught me very much. I learnt the most important facts about this breed, about breeding, people, dogs...She taught me how to choose dogs for matings and she taught me the most about bloodlines. I cannot say enough "thanks" to her for everything what she gave me. Once, when I write a book I will mention her, but for now it will stay as a secret :-).

After facts what my mentor told me I definitely chose what bloodlines I like and what I want to breed. I definitely know what I want and I have own philosophy of breeding and breeding program."

Our lifestyle

Our whole life we give over to dogs. Every dog in our kennel is our full family member. Even they live outside in kennels, they fully respect our household and they know how to behave inside. We have that number of dogs, what we can fully handle! It is much more easier to keep more than 10 dogs because Denisa is the boss of Alaskan malamutes, Jessica of SIberian huskies. Usually some dog is always inside.

The place when we live (half-solutide beside the forest with two lakes, acres and acres of place for running) allows to feel the nature, dogs are very happy to run there and watch wild animals. Alaskan malamutes usually run free without a leash everywhere. Siberian huskies have more temperament and they must be on leash but we have 10m leash for them so they can feel the smell of freedom.

Our goals

Our most important breeding goal is to produce healthy, balanced puppies with typical character, who will be the best companion and full members of the family. For the responsible breeder should be more important to have puppies in right families than to have them in full show kennels. So we always ask a lot about the new home and new owners, their lifestyle and experiences with pets. We made for potentional new owners a questionnaire, what helps them to write us what we wait from them.

We would like to have a very close contact with new owners. We prefer more personal contact (if it is possible) than email communication. If the email communication is needed, there is lots of pictures and questions! :-)

We have own philosopy of breeding program. We try to choose the smartest combination of dogs for the best possible results. Litters are limited in our kennel (1-2 litters in year), they are whelped in our living room, and we are with them 24 hours. You will never meet our dogs in puppymill kennels - we choose potentional owners very carefully.
